On the day information 2017

Before you set off:

Booking-in on the day

Only one person needs to book in their team at the registration desks in Carey Street. They hand in the booking sheet (which you can  download in  word here and in  pdf here) unless you have completed it  online here and receive copies of the map for your chosen route and you team's drinks vouchers.

If your team leaves without you, you can book in before or after them. It's not a problem, just come and collect your map. Registration desks open at 4.30pm and close at 7pm.

The Walk Maps

Please make sure you pick up some copies on the day from the registration desks! The maps are also available online here.

Leaving bags and coats

We will have a staffed cloakroom in the Law Society (free but donations are of course welcome). It will be open from 4.00pm until 9.30pm.

Photographs

We have professional photographers at the walk and a photo booth!

We will have plenty of professional photographers between the booking desks and Lincoln's Inn Fields to take team photos between 4.15pm and 7.00pm

We will ask lead walkers and senior judges to be there to be in photos but we don't book time slots. It's first come, first served and we'll try to grab a lead walker for your photo.

For small groups and individuals we have asked "Judge" Rinder to be at the photo booth at the junction of Carey Street and Bell Yard for informal photos.

Photo Booth - we will have a photo booth (funny props included) at the street party in Carey Street. Please do stop by to get some funny photos in. Find out more about the photo booth here.

Photo competition - remember we also have a walker photo competition - more details here

Cash/cheques/ CAF vouchers etc.

All cheques, CAF vouchers etc. should be made out to London Legal Support Trust and they, along with any cash you have collected, can be handed in (with any gift aid forms) to the cash desk next to the registration desks. If you are bringing cash, sorting it in advance into different coins in little bags would be very handy! If you can't we will do that when you are there. You must identify which team it is a donation towards  or we will not credit it to your fundraising and it won't be on your certificate.

Before or after walk day, walk funds can be posted to London Legal Support Trust at the National Pro Bono Centre, 48 Chancery Lane, London. WC2A 1JF

Merchandise

We will be running a merchandise desk on the day. You can find out more here.

On route:

Your walkers may walk whichever route they choose. Just tell us which maps you want at the registration desk.

Water

Our kind sponsors the Law Society are going to be handing out bottles of water in Bell Yard and some of our volunteers will provide more water on the parks route - which passes less shops than the river route-  just before the loop at the Serpentine (until it runs out!). Please dispose of the empty bottles properly - each of our route stewards will have a bin bag with them so they can take them from you.

At the end

How to finish

Walkers simply arrive at one of the end venues (Law Society, Carey Street or Knights Templar) and you will be cheered in to join the fun! You do not need to sign anything or check in anywhere specific. Between 8.30 - 9.00pm one or two of the lead walkers will come to each bar and announce the "result".

Moments for Me - After the walk, why not put up your tired legs and unwind with a well-earned massage?

Join Moments for Me at the Law Society where they will be offering 10-minute sessions of On-site Chair Massage or Indian Head Massage - the perfect way to relax post-walk!

All money raised is in support of LLST, so you can treat yourself, and help us fundraise even more.

Canine networking

There will be an end point for four legged walkers in Star Yard (opposite Bell Yard) where we will provide water bowls and dog treats (and poo bags). Some of our best sponsored walkers have four legs. Make sure yours is sponsored :)

The Crowds

At the end, entrance to the venues can be slow, please bear with us! We have added the second route to avoid congestion but with thousands of walkers there may be queues - especially at the bars inside and outside the Knights Templar- Law Society bars (and toilets!) tend to be less crowded- we really appreciate your patience and hope you still really enjoy it.
