On the day information 2018

Before you set off:

Booking-in on the day

Only one person needs to book in your team at the registration desks in Carey Street by:
i. Handing in the booking sheet (which you can download in  word here and in  pdf here) unless you have completed it online here
ii. Taking copies of the map for your chosen route
iii. Collecting your team's drinks vouchers (though remember you can donate them!)

If your team leaves without you, you can book in before or after them. It's not a problem, just come and collect your map and drinks ticket.

Registration desks open at 4pm and close at 7pm.

Route Maps

Please make sure you pick up copies on the day from the registration desks! The maps are also available online here.

Your walkers can take either the River or the Parks route - just tell us which maps you want at the registration desks.

Cloakroom - leaving bags and coats

We will have a staffed cloakroom in the Law Society (free but donations are of course welcome). It will be open from 4.00pm until 9.30pm. Please be aware that the cloakroom is small (not enough for 12,000 walkers) so we recommend that you only bring a light bag and jacket with you, keeping valuables locked in your office.

Photographs - Professional group photos and a photo booth!

Want a group shot? We will have plenty of professional photographers between the booking desks and Lincoln's Inn Fields to take team photos between 4.15pm and 7.00pm. We will email the link to the team organisers in the days after the walk, and add the link to our website as well.

'Judge' Rinder: We have asked Judge Rinder to be available for the group team photos and informal photos in Carey Street so feel free to ask him for a photo.

Photo Booth: we will have a photo booth (funny props included) at the street party in Carey Street. Please do stop by and strike a pose! Find out more about the photo booth here.

Photo competition: remember we also have a walker photo competition - more details here

Cash/cheques/ CAF vouchers etc.

All cheques, CAF vouchers etc. should be made out to London Legal Support Trust and they, along with any cash you have collected, can be handed in (with any gift aid forms) to the cash desk (next to the registration desks).

If you are bringing cash, sorting it in advance into different coins in little bags would be very handy! If you can't we will do that when you are there. You must identify which team your offline funds are a donation towards  or we will not be able to credit it to your fundraising and it won't be on your certificate.

Before or after walk day, walk funds can be posted to or dropped off during working hours to London Legal Support Trust at the National Pro Bono Centre, 48 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1JF.

Merchandise - Legal Walk t-shirts, mugs and water bottles!

We will be running a merchandise desk on the day at the street party in Carey Street. You can find out more here.

Water

Our kind sponsors the Law Society are going to be handing out bottles of water in Bell Yard and some of our volunteers will provide more water on the parks route - which passes fewer shops than the river route - just before the loop at the Serpentine (until it runs out!). Lexacom are also providing water and will have a station by the registration desks on Carey Street. Please dispose of the empty bottles properly - each of our route stewards will have a bin bag with them so they can take them from you. There will also be some samples of Get More vitamin water available - find out more here.

At the end

How to finish

Walkers simply arrive at one of the end venues (Law Society, Carey Street or Knights Templar) and you will be cheered in to join the fun! You do not need to sign anything or check in anywhere specific. Between 8.30pm - 9.00pm one or two of the lead walkers will come to each bar and announce the "result".

Canine networking

There will be an end point for four legged walkers in Star Yard (opposite Bell Yard) where we will provide water bowls and dog treats (and poo bags). Some of our best sponsored walkers have four legs. Make sure yours is sponsored :)

The Crowds

At the end, entrance to the venues can be slow, please bear with us! We have added the second route to avoid congestion but with thousands of walkers there may be queues - especially at the bars inside and outside the Knights Templar- Law Society bars (and toilets!) tend to be less crowded- we really appreciate your patience and hope you still really enjoy it.
